Lights & Flavours Diwali Celebration at ibis KLCC
Deepavali at ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre (ibis KLCC) is nothing short of magical this year.
On 18th October 2025, the hotel unveiled its highly anticipated Lights & Flavours – A Diwali Celebration at Kampung Kitchen, marking the launch of a two-week Indian Food Promotion that runs from 18th to 31st October. The night shone with warmth, laughter, and the irresistible charm of Indian culture, drawing guests into a festive atmosphere filled with light, flavour, and togetherness.

The grand launch was held at Kampung Kitchen Restaurant on Level 10, a venue transformed into a lively canvas of colours, scents, and sounds. The celebration brought together hotel guests, media friends, and members of the Indian community, all united by the joy of Deepavali. The evening was graced by Dato A. Aruldass, President of the Malaysia Indian Tours & Travel Association (MITTA), who officiated the launch as Guest of Honour, adding a special touch of prestige to the occasion.

An Authentic Taste of India
This celebration was a spectacular culinary collaboration between ibis KLCC and its sister property, Novotel Ahmedabad, India. Two guest chefs, Executive Chef Shravan Kumar Sharma and Chef de Partie Ajaypal Singh, were specially flown in to lead this gastronomic journey. With decades of experience in Indian cuisine, both chefs brought not only skill but also a deep-rooted passion for traditional Indian cooking, infusing each dish with authenticity and heart.

Their creations paid homage to India’s diverse culinary heritage. Guests were treated to a dazzling spread of dishes, from robust North Indian curries to delicate South Indian delicacies. Every plate reflected a careful balance of spices and textures—the buttery richness of paneer makhani, the smoky aroma of tandoori meats, and the comforting warmth of lentil-based dals. The buffet at Kampung Kitchen, already well-loved for its international offerings, took on a new dimension with its dedicated Indian spread, making every bite an exploration of India’s many regions and flavours.

The Magic of Live Cooking
Adding an element of theatre to the buffet are interactive live cooking stations of Pani Puri and Pav Bhaji, an instant hit among diners. The Tandoor station draws attention with its oven roasted meat. At the Chaat Corner, guests can customise their own street food delights, with crunchy puris, recreating the joy of India’s bustling markets.

Festive Ambience and Cultural Harmony
The celebration extends far beyond food – it is a feast for the senses and the soul. The live busker performances add rhythm and joy, complementing the vibrant décor that glows with Deepavali motifs and traditional elements. Kampung Kitchen’s warm lighting, paired with cheerful chatter and the clinking of glasses, creates an atmosphere that truly captures the spirit of the Festival of Lights.

In keeping with the hotel’s inclusive philosophy, Kampung Kitchen’s buffet is fully Halal-certified, welcoming guests from all walks of life to share in the joy of the occasion. For added convenience, diners enjoy complimentary parking, as well as exclusive discounts for senior citizens, in-house guests, and ALL Members.

A Celebration Beyond Borders
Speaking at the launch, Ms. Vivian Chu, Hotel Manager of ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre, expressed her pride in hosting such a meaningful celebration.

“Deepavali is a festival that resonates deeply with both Malaysians and Indians alike. It symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and reminds us of the beauty of unity in diversity. With our guest chefs from Novotel Ahmedabad, we wish to offer a truly authentic experience, one that goes beyond food, to celebrate the shared heritage between our cultures,” she said.
Her words reflected the essence of the evening, a heartfelt bridge Malaysian hospitality and Indian tradition.
