KTM Train Ipoh – Kuala Lumpur (KLS) – Ipoh

It’s hard to believe that with two train services plying Ipoh – Kuala Lumpur – Ipoh, I couldn’t even purchase one miserable ticket when I went to the Ipoh Railway Station last evening.

Guess what? The ETS ticket counter was already closed for the day while KTM ticket counter refused to sell me an “advance” ticket. Errrr I have no idea since when this policy was enforced but it pissed me off that after driving 30 minutes to the Ipoh Railway Station, I went home empty-handed. Two train services and no ticket for sale. Imagine that!

  1. i have heard of the train service but i have not went on one personally.
maybe the next trip back to ipoh, i should decide on this 🙂

  2. not worth travelling on ETS because too expensive and the difference in terms of time is not much if we travel on the normal train which is cheaper. Normal train takes about 3 hours whiile ETS takes about 2hours from kl to ipoh. The difference of 1 hour is negligible.

  3. is the schedule still the same from Ipoh to KL Sentral?
I am in Ipoh now – if I leave 9:15 a.m. from Ipoh tomorrow what time do I arrive KL Sentral?

  4. Thanks for info. Their policy of not selling advance ticket is a surprise.
No wonder KTM is one of those big companies that lost money. Maybe now policy have change.
