Jeff’s Cellar @ The Banjaran
Page 1 Page 2
As mentioned in my previous post, those who dine at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat during their Muhibbah Sunset Dinner (pork-free buffet-style dinner) promotion from 8th Aug to 16th Sept, 2011, will get to enjoy special privilege access to Jeff’s Cellar, a unique, private wine cellar set in a 280-million year palaeozoic cave.
Jeff’s Cellar houses the private wine collection of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah. He is the founder of Sunway Group Berhad, which owns The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Although Jeff’s Cellar is located in The Banjaran, it is not part of the property.
However, Tan Sri is gracious enough to open his cellar to guests of The Banjaran. Since I went for their Muhibbah Sunset Dinner last evening, I too visited Jeff’s Cellar, which is open for guests daily from 9pm to 11pm only. Now, I’ll be honest and say that I’ve never visited a wine cellar before so I have nothing to compare this with, but boy, am I impressed!

Hi Emily, is the Jeff’s Cellar open to public for visit?
Do contact The Banjaran directly.
Any reservation required for a meal at your restaurant? How many days ahead?
How much to spend for a reasonably good meal per head with wine and without?
What are the attractions that bring people to visit this place? Is it the food or the uniqueness of this place?
Other that food and good wine, what can one do to spend an evening in this wine bar?
Much appreciated for your advice
Thanks
Hi Paul,
Jeff’s Cellar is not a restaurant. It is a cellar located in The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat which has a restaurant by the name of Pomelo.
Jeff’s Cellar is closed to the public but those who want to host a private party may do so here, and of course, reservation is required.
As for the price, you would need to check with The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat at +605-2107777.
