Banjaran means “mountain range” in Bahasa Malaysia (Malay language). It is a very apt word used to name The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat because it is set against limestone hills in Ipoh (Tambun).
My friends in Ipoh have the misconception that The Banjaran is very far away when it is actually not. It only takes 15 to 20 minutes driving from Ipoh City. It may seem like a long drive but let’s face it. In KL, one would still be stuck in the neigbhourhood within the same time frame!
