Grant A Wish Gift Presentation
For the fifth consecutive year, Ipoh Parade took the lead to grant the Christmas wishes of children from orphanages in Ipoh to give the season a little more meaning to them.
These children, about 140 of them from seven homes, namely Good Shepherd Family Home, Precious Gift Home, Salvation Army Ipoh Boys Home, Vision Home, Pertubuhan Anak-Anak Yatim & Miskin (Anning Ipoh), Ipoh Christian Centre (Agape Family) and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Harapan Baru, had wished for a range of gifts from something simple, such as a football or school bag to things that are bigger (in size), like a guitar.
For the month of December, these wishes were displayed at Ipoh Parade’s concourse area, where shoppers tried to grant them, either with brand new gifts, preloved items or cash. Some children even received three gifts out of their maximum of three wishes! Tenants also generously chipped in to the cause to help put a smile on the children’s faces. Major sponsors were The Chicken Rice Shop, Kopitiam Avenue and Born & Bread.
The children were also treated to stage performances, from Latin dances by young students from Yencci Dance Studio and magic show by Uncle Frankie.
