Classic Premium Cantonese Charcoal Roast Mix @ Kitchen Iron Rice Bowl, Ipoh
One of the restaurants that my family patronised over the long weekend holiday was Kitchen Iron Rice Bowl. Phew, what a mouthful.
Opened on 1st April, 2018 at Bercham, Ipoh, Kitchen Iron Rice Bowl Restaurant offers classic premium Cantonese charcoal roast mix, Hong Kong-style, with a traditional charcoal roast method originated from Guangdong, China.
Highly recommended at Kitchen Iron Rice Bowl is its signature barbecue pork of selected top quality fresh pork belly that is marinated overnight using a secret recipe of more than ten ingredients. In the morning, the meat is roasted for at least two hours, as it is slathered with a homemade sauce.
Next on the list would be its charcoal-roasted Herbal Roast Duck. None of my family members opted for duck meat in our single-serving dishes. We are leaving the duck for another day. Apparently, this is the restaurant’s top seller.
We did, however, order among others, its signature Iron Rice Bowl Roast Meat Rice, which is topped with vegetables, an egg, BBQ pork, roast pork and choice of roast chicken or roast duck.
The White Curry Noodles (Soup) garnished with a generous portion of BBQ pork and roast pork also has got our thumbs up. As you can see, with single-serving dishes, we get to taste most of the restaurant’s signature meats: pork, chicken and duck.
The menu of Kitchen Iron Rice Bowl Restaurant is not unlike Dim Sum Yuen, except that the flavours here are stronger, and no, dim sum is not offered.
By the way, Kitchen Iron Rice Bowl offers a charity lunch every first Tuesday of the month, whereby nett profit from 12pm to 3pm on those days is channelled to a charity organisation, via a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to give back to the community.
