Carnival of the Green 2014
The green themed family-centric carnival was organised at SJK(C) Pasir Pinji 2, Ipoh by local F&B chain, Oldtown Berhad.
It was a commendable effort, and it attracted a good crowd of visitors with its line-up of activities, entertainment, souvenirs and lucky draw prizes.
Keeping to the theme, Mr. Tree was around where visitors were free to take a photo with. It was a good way of creating awareness among the public on the importance of a tree, which we often take for granted.
There was also a talk on the environment and how we can play our part in keeping it healthy.
The highlight of the morning was, to me, the eco-wear parade. The dresses were surely creative works of art!
MY FM Cruisers were also at the half-day carnival for live crossover to their radio station. Now, that’s added excitement!
The overall atmosphere seemed fun. However, I felt that vendors who were totally unrelated to the theme shouldn’t be allowed to participate. They diluted the essence of the programme.
