Halal Authentic Chinese Cuisine In Ipoh
I have known about Restoran Hj Sharin Low Grand along Persiaran Greenhill (opposite Yum Yum Restaurant), for a long time. However, I have not had the opportunity to try out the restaurant until yesterday.
There are more than 17 restaurants in Malaysia and Indonesia under the Hj Sharin Low group, easily the largest Chinese Muslim restaurant chain in Malaysia, serving authentic halal, Chinese-style cuisine. The flagship Hj Sharin Low Grand Restaurant is in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
With an extensive menu of Chinese dishes like Lak Chi Crab, Marmite Chicken, Sizzling Tofu, Butter Prawns, Steam Fish in multiple styles of preparations, placing an order can be a headache. You won’t go wrong to stick to the chef’s recommendation.
Check out my photos to see my generous lunch yesterday. Seriously look and taste like dishes from top Chinese restaurants in town, eh? The difference is that Restoran Hj Sharin Low Grand serves only halal food – a great place to bring your visiting Muslim friends.
I read before that these were recipes from the family of the founder, Tuan Haji Sharin Low. Hhmm, you gotta try them yourself and let me know what you think. Do they taste like real Chinese Cuisine? Oh yes, the restaurant provides free wi-fi connection. So happy!

Dear Sir,
I usually bring school children from Singapore on tour in Malaysia and I find that halal restaurants that cater to tour buses are hard to come by. I saw your restaurant in the net and I wonder whether your restaurant accept order from tour groups. What is the price like say for a table of 10 pax with about 6 dishes. This is to give me an idea as to whether student groups can afford the price otherwise we may have to look for other alternatives. TQ

I called up the restaurant just now.
They have two packages (for ten pax):
a) 7 dishes + 2 desserts – RM368.
b) 7 dishes + 2 desserts – RM450.
If you want to make changes to their sets, you may do so, and the price will vary accordingly.
