The two-day Chinese New Year Carnival in Ipoh organised by AstroLife was held at Dataran MBI. The weather was great, lucky for Astro and their customers, who came in droves to enjoy themselves. The games were fun, family-orientated, so children and adults could participate.
I wasn’t able to attend the launch of the carnival at night but I dropped by to get some photos earlier in the morning. As a customer, I was able to redeem a goodie bag and was automatically entered into a lucky draw. I was told that the draw would be at 1.30pm. As it was just 1pm then, I went for lunch and when I returned to the carnival grounds at 1.25pm, I found out that the lucky draw had already concluded.
Imagine my dismay! It’s not about losing the chance to win a prize, but about being made to run around like that. All organisers should take note that they can delay their lucky draws but not bring it forward as it is unfair to participants! Having attended hundreds of events as an event blogger, this one was least satisfactory for me.
