Andaman Supercars Charity Drive 2014
The selected 14 children from Anning Children’s Home Ipoh almost had to pinch themselves awake when they had the golden opportunity to be driven around the city in supercars, cars that they chose. The kids, aged from 2 to 16 were rewarded for their good behaviour and academic performance.
As part of property developer Andaman Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the charity drive was made possible with the support from prestigious supercar clubs of Malaysia, namely Lamborghini Owners Malaysia, Ferrari Owners’ Club Malaysia, Porsche Club Malaysia and Lotus Official Club Malaysia.
Said the Group’s Managing Director Dato’ Sri (Dr) Vincent Tiew, “This had truly been a once in a lifetime experience for the children. We hope our activity today would motivate and encourage positive thinking in them.”
The convoy of 65 sleek supercars from Kuala Lumpur was certainly eye-catching and took Ipoh by storm.
The two-day event over the weekend also saw these children plus 21 of their housemates taken on a shopping spree where they picked out their own choice of schooling essentials, in time for the new school term.
These necessities were sponsored by Andaman Group, who also topped up their sponsorship with a cash donation of RM5,000 to the home.
