7,000 Enjoy Ipoh Car-Free Day
Some 7,000 Ipoh City residents participated in this month’s Ipoh Car-Free Day on Sunday. It was attended by YB Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi bin Abdul Rahim, Perak State Secretary-cum-Ipoh City Mayor; YDP Zulqarnain Mohamad of Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council (MPKK); Ipoh City Councillors and also department heads.
The event, which kicked off at 7am and lasted for three hours, was its 49th edition, since it was first established in October 2015. The main theme for February was World Thinking Day, observed on 22nd February annually.
Among the activities organised were the 2020 Syria White Snow Run by Aman Palestin Malaysia; aerobics and Fun Ride.
Ipoh Car-Free Day received the support from non-governmental agencies and private corporations such as Ipoh City Watch (ICW), Access Kick Boxing Centre, National Population and Development Authority (LPPKN), Kinta District Health Office, Hevea KB, Perkeso, Cycledios, Department of Culture and Arts, Tower Regency, ISMA, Daybreak Association, Best Computer, Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat, Persatuan Suri & Anggota Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia (Puspanita), Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Perpustakaan Tun Razak, KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital, and many more.
