Cosy Vandv Café with Delicious Meal Sets
Vandv Café, located opposite Methodist Girls’ School (MGS) in town, opened for business in mid-2019.
Knew about this new café since the beginning but ting tong ting tong, travelled, avoided traffic congestion especially during school peak hours, and eight months passed by quickly before I could patronise it.
Vandv (pronounced as Vans or Vanz) is a cosy café which features a fancy interior decor that exudes a relaxing vibe.
It was quiet on a Sunday afternoon for lunch; only two other tables were occupied, besides mine. I was enjoying the peace and quiet… until one of the diners sneezed, not once, not twice but SEVEN times, and she did not do anything about it. For f*s sake, she should sneeze into her elbow or just go out to the veranda, so that her germs are in open air and not in an air-conditioned space. DUH!!!
Anyway, back to my meal experience, Vandv serves “super saver” sets from 11am until 6pm, best for breakfast and tea, as well as Set Lunches from 11am until 3pm.
Of the many set lunches that I have tried at various eateries around town, I would say that Vandv Café ranks high on the list in terms of taste. The sauces ordered: mushroom, Hawaiian and Mongolian were on point and memorable, that make you crave for more. And the rice, I am quite particular about it as many eateries offer lower grade rice to gain a wider profit margin. Not so with Vandv Café. Thumbs up for that.
Oh yes, the set lunch order comes with complimentary beverage; choice of lemon tea, peach tea, English breakfast tea or Jasmine green tea.
