Many people do not know that there is an awesome Myrtle lemon tea plantation located in Sekinchan. Myrtle tea plantations are commonly found in Australia, but are also now available in Malaysia.

If you plan to visit this plantation, you are able to enjoy the view of the greenery farms and paddy fields; perfect for pictures or “photoshoots”. In addition, there are a few hammocks provided for visitors to spend a relaxing time. You can also buy products made from myrtle tea at the stall such as hand soap, body soap, Myrtle tea, fresh lemon tea water and many more.

Entrance fee is RM3 for adults, RM1 for kids below 7 years old. The plantation is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9am until 5pm.

2) PADDY FIELDS, SEKINCHAN, SABAK BERNAM
Sabak Bernam is well-known for its amazing paddy fields. Therefore, if you are looking for a serene and refreshing environment, this is the right spot for you to visit with your loved ones.

There are various activities that you can occupy yourself such as walking around and taking pictures at the paddy fields, stop by at a special bakeshop, Ah Ma House, which sells traditional Chinese light food such as biscuits, crackers, snacks, and traditional baked goodies such as pineapple tarts, kuih kapit and kuih bangkit (tapioca cookies). You can also visit the Paddy Gallery to learn about seed planting and the process of harvesting rice.

3) THE NATIONAL BOTANICAL GARDEN, SHAH ALAM
The National Botanical Garden is an agro tourism park designed for leisure purposes as well as for research. It features a green, serene and refreshing environment.

This park has its special attraction for visitors which is the notable four-season house where you can experience all 4 types of seasons; spring, summer, autumn and winter. However, the four-season house will only open to the public in early 2021. Furthermore, there are cactus, orchid and spice gardens as well as animal park, fruit gardens and several more.

Entrance fees are RM1 (6-11 y/o), RM3 (12-54 y/o), RM1 (55 y/o and above) and free for OKU. Operation hour is from Tuesday to Sunday (7.30am to 4.30pm).

4) SELANGOR RIVER DAM, HULU SELANGOR
If you can spare some time, stop by at Sungai Selangor Dam because it is one of the interesting destinations especially to nature lovers and photographers. Here, you can delight in the natural environment, comprising a lake which is crystal clear, and to take pictures of the spectacular scenery of the surrounding hills.

Besides that, there are fishing and cycling activities along the way to the dam. If you stop by at night, you can enjoy watching the night sky filled with stars (stargazing) while relaxing with family and friends.

5) PAYA INDAH DISCOVERY WETLANDS, KUALA LANGAT
Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands is a superb place for those who like going to tranquil places where they can appreciate the natural environment. The landscape around this area is enchanting because it is filled with trees, large fields and natural plants such as waterlilies.

This place has become a habitat area for more than 300 species of animals and to all bird lovers, you can find pleasure in bird watching too. Moreover, you can participate in activities like feeding rhinos, crocodiles and fish plus go fishing, cycling, kayaking, jungle trekking, etc. Another unique recreation is the “Safari Insta-Tour” which is a 45-minute ride on a truck to three scenic locations; Bamboo Trail, Lake Sendayan and Rumah Melayu.

The rates are RM 35 on weekdays and RM 45 on weekends. MyKad holders get a 20% discount. Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands is open daily from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.

6) SELANGOR FRUITS VALLEY, KUALA SELANGOR
Selangor Fruits Valley is an exemplary farm to visit as it offers various types of local fruit farms, i.e. rambutan, papaya, starfruit, guava and others. The fruits from these orchards are free-of-charge for visitors.

Meanwhile, there are other attractions such as visiting mini petting zoo, agricultural centre, traditional houses, deer and kelulut honey farms, alongside kayaking activity. Additionally, there is a tram service where you can take a ride around the park to breathe in some fresh air. Also, a coconut stall is available for you to take a rest and quench your thirst with fresh coconut drink.

Selangor Fruits Valley opens every day except Friday (9.00am to 4.00pm). Entrance fees are RM 15 (adults), RM 10 (60 years old and above), RM 10 (OKU and kids 4-12 years old), free-of-charge for kids below 4 years old.

7) PULAU KETAM, KLANG
Pulau Ketam is located in Klang, an interesting destination to explore. Visitors can enjoy the sandy beaches and take part in joyous activities with friends and family.

In order to reach Pulau Ketam, you need to take a ferry (RM14 two-way) per person or speed boat (RM20 two-way) per passenger. The area is a fishing village that is populated by a majority of the Chinese community. It is also famous for its many seafood restaurants serving delicious menus. Some of the activities here include renting a bicycle to ride around the village, taking pictures at mural sites plus Chinese temples, and experience the captivating scenery of a fishing village.
