“Tradisi Warisan Bonda” is the theme of this year’s Ramadan buffet at WEIL Hotel Ipoh. Featuring timeless traditional Malay cuisine that reminds us of our mother’s or grandma’s cooking back in the kampung, it’s especially welcoming for Muslims who are somehow unable to observe the breaking of fast in the kampung as these authentic flavours of classic Malay culinary heritage evoke similar celebratory vibes.
“Tradisi Warisan Bonda” buka puasa begins from 25th March to 21st April 2023 (7pm – 10pm) at the Tiffin Restaurant of WEIL Hotel Ipoh. Two specially planned menus will be offered on a rotational basis, with more than a hundred items on each menu available every evening. If there is a single word to describe “Tradisi Warisan Bonda”, it would be “choices”. What about two words? “Lip-smacking choices,” we say!
With such an extensive buffet spread, is it even possible to eat everything? Well, the art of enjoying a buffet is to get small portions of the various dishes over several rounds. Even better is to dine at WEIL Hotel Ipoh for a few evenings because once is definitely insufficient to savour all the scrumptious selections that begin with starters, wrapping up with desserts and all items in between.
Besides traditional Malay dishes, you can expect whole roasted lamb and chicken, selections of local and international salads, and soups, in addition to the ten or so action stalls. One that particularly stood out for us is Warung Nasi Briyani Viral, possibly the first of its kind in Ipoh. Then there is the Warung Gulai Kawah which offers large woks of some of the best-loved Malay dishes.
