Vintage-looking VCR Café Kuala Lumpur
One of the best aspects of staying at different hotels during each and every trip to the capital city is the chance to explore its local area. For my recent staycation at citizenM Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang, I explored on foot from Pudu (Chinatown) to Bukit Bintang, Golden Triangle and Imbi, passing through Jalan Alor and more.
As a local tourist for that weekend, I took the opportunity to café hop. One of the neighbourhood eateries that was suggested to me was VCR Café Kuala Lumpur, tucked in a quiet neighbourhood along Jalan Galloway, in a section of Pudu, that’s just across the road (Jalan Pudu) from citizenM Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang.
This double-storey café is indistinct from the exterior. One could easily walk past it if he wasn’t looking out for its signage.
On the inside, this vintage-looking café feels cosy and exudes a warm ambience. Nice for working on the laptop or yum cha with friends. I couldn’t capture a photo of the ground floor as it was full of patrons, and I didn’t want to invade on their privacy.
When it comes to the menu, it’s modest, with only limited choices. After 6pm, there are even fewer dishes to order. Pricing is slightly on the high side. Nonetheless, don’t forget to try the coffee here, that comes highly recommended.
