Tune Talk #MaskOn: Filter the Air, Filter the Fake News
Tune Talk has organised a #MaskOn campaign whereby its team distributes free surgical masks to the public in Klang Valley. It will be a continuous effort for the next couple of days according to CEO, Ameen Amaendran.
With the Coronavirus outbreak that is happening global wide, the company’s primary objective is to raise awareness on the importance of wearing a surgical mask during this challenging time. The masks are distributed to the public at prime locations, particularly Bukit Bintang, Central Market, Masjid Jamek and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
During the first distribution, most of the public workers such as taxi drivers, traffic policemen and stall vendors were happy and excited to receive the free masks, considering the fact that surgical masks are currently sold out at most pharmacy outlets.
In continuation of this effort, Tune Talk would also like to focus on the danger of spreading fake news especially through social media. The widespread of fake news regarding the Coronavirus has gotten out of hand for the past few weeks resulting in suspected individuals getting detained and being investigated by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
As an MVNO telecommunication company, Tune Talk would like to remind all social media users that the power of consuming and spreading news is in their own hands; thus, the campaign’s tag line “Filter the Air, Filter the Fake News #MaskOn.”
