It was a major cooking competition on Friday at Bubur Lambuk WoW 2017 in Ipoh.
The event, which saw the participation of some twenty government agencies, NGOs and members of the press had them compete against one another not only for the best tasting bubur lambuk (porridge) but also best decorated booth.
Some of the participants were Kelab Sukan dan Kebajikan Media Perak (KSKMP), Tourism Malaysia Perak, Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian, Rela Negeri Perak and Destination Perak.
Other participants included Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar Negeri Perak, KPerak Inc. Corp., Perak Chef Association, Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Perak, and Bahagian Khidmat Pengurusan (BKP) SUK.
Hosted for the fifth consecutive year, the competition was jointly organised by the Perak State Government through Tourism Perak Management Berhad, Ipoh City Council as well as Adabi.
Those 10,000 packets of bubur lambuk prepared that morning were then distributed to the public including motorists from 3pm onwards. They came in droves despite the heavy downpour, to share in the joy of ‘rezeki Ramadan’.
It was indeed a successful social responsibility initiative to give back to the community during the holy month of Ramadan.
With the large number of prizes to go around, almost every participant went home a winner. And rightly so, with so much time and effort put into making the event so memorable.
