The Chimes of Love
The PSPA Singers returned, this time to bring the message of hope, love, joy and peace, through a Christmas performance.
Titled “The Chimes of Love”, the musical presentation was headlined by Ipoh-born mezzo-soprano Marianne Poh and tenor Khoo Wu Ji. Sharing the stage were Sirikhwan Buathong (soprano) and Salith Dechsangworn (tenor), both from neighbouring Thailand.
Besides singing traditional Yuletide carols, other songs in the repertoire included newer Christmas-themed songs, not only in English but also Latin.
This two-night concert also manifested a deeper objective, which was to create an awareness concerning the needs of urban poor and to seek the community’s assistance to help reach out to these people through various means.
Therefore, the audience were encouraged to bring along items of basic necessity and clothing to be distributed to the needy, apart from making a cash donation.
Additionally, the concert would not have been possible without the support of sponsors, in cash or kind.
