Strengthening Ties: YB Sivanesan’s Exclusive Media Engagement

On 24th March 2025, media practitioners gathered at Mohd Chan Restaurant in Ipoh, for a special occasion with YB Sivanesan A/L Achalingam, the Perak State Executive Councillor for Health, Human Resources, National Integration, and Indian Community Affairs. In his capacity as Chairman of Pusat Aspirasi Anak Perak (PASAK), YB Sivanesan hosted the event to foster stronger ties between media members and the state government while discussing key developments and initiatives in Perak.

A Night of Appreciation and Dialogue

During the event, YB Sivanesan acknowledged the critical role the media plays in disseminating accurate information, supporting government initiatives, and bridging the gap between policymakers and the public.

In his speech, he reaffirmed the state’s commitment to Perak Sejahtera 2030, a strategic plan aimed at driving economic growth and social well-being. He also commended PASAK for its dedication to equipping Perak’s workforce with essential skills and employment opportunities.

PASAK’s Ongoing Mission for Perak’s Workforce

PASAK, formerly known as Pusat Kerjaya Amanjaya (PeKA), was established in 2011 to provide career development support. Rebranded in 2018, it has since expanded its role, focusing on TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) including soft skills programmes. Today, PASAK is a leading force in Perak, ensuring that every year, 2000 to 3000 students are equipped with industry-relevant skills.

In 2024 alone, PASAK successfully conducted 288 impactful programmes, ranging from job placements to upskilling courses. These efforts align with Perak Sejahtera 2030, ensuring the state’s youth and job seekers have access to quality employment, besides entrepreneurial opportunities.

Strengthening Media Collaboration for 2025

Mr. Aldrin Ng, Director of PASAK, expressed gratitude towards the media for their continued support. He emphasised PASAK’s vision for 2025, hoping for even stronger collaboration to increase awareness of its training programmes and job placement services.
