Spreading Joy and Compassion: Majlis Sentuhan Kasih Bersama B40 Bandaraya Ipoh

The spirit of Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri was beautifully reflected at the Majlis Sentuhan Kasih Bersama B40 Bandaraya Ipoh, held at the bustling Ipoh Night Market on 14th March 2025.

The heartwarming event, graced by Ipoh City Mayor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud alongside Y.Bhg. Clr. Dato’ Mazlan bin Abd. Rahman, Head of WHIP MBI Council Member, and Ipoh Night Market Managing Director Mr. Voon Ken Hong was a testament to the city’s commitment to uplifting its residents in need.

A Meaningful Gesture for the B40 Community

This special initiative was organised to spread joy and lighten the financial burden of underprivileged families within the Ipoh City Council as they prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

The event featured a berbuka puasa (breaking of fast) session, where community members gathered to share a meal in the true spirit of togetherness.

Among the honoured invitees were 70 families from B40 MBI staff, totalling 150 guests, who were warmly welcomed to partake in the celebration.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of duit Raya to the children. Seeing the delighted faces of the little ones was a touching reminder of how small acts of kindness can make a significant impact. For many families, these contributions provide much-needed relief during the festive season, ensuring that their celebrations are filled with happiness and dignity.

Strengthening Community Bonds

Beyond the financial assistance, this event was also an opportunity to strengthen the bond between the City Council’s leadership and its staff. The presence of the Mayor and Councillor, under the MBI Prihatin initiative, emphasised their dedication to supporting the community, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose among attendees. It reminds us that Hari Raya is not only about festivities but also about caring for one another, especially those facing economic challenges.
