SIDEC Launches Twin Accelerator Programme to Boost Selangor’s SME and Startup Growth.

Selangor strengthens its reputation as a digital innovation hub with the launch of the 2024 Twin Accelerator Programme, supporting 100 entrepreneurs across various industries.

The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) has launched its latest initiative, the Twin Accelerator Programme.

This ambitious programme includes the Selangor Accelerator Programme (SAP24) and the Selangor E-Commerce Xccelerator (ECX24), both initiatives designed to support and grow SMEs plus startups in the state.

The Twin Accelerator Programme aims to help businesses in Selangor thrive, by providing resources and opportunities for high-growth companies. The goal is to create businesses that will contribute significantly to Selangor’s economy.

A total of 50 startups specialising in fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Smart Mobility, Bio-Based Solutions, and Net Zero have been selected for SAP24.

In parallel, another 50 SMEs in industries like Food & Beverages, Fashion, Health, and Home Living have been shortlisted for ECX24.

Strong Interest from Entrepreneurs
Mr Yong Kai Ping, CEO of SIDEC, expressed enthusiasm over the more than 550 applications received for both programmes.

“This shows just how much interest there is in Selangor as a hub for business development and innovation,” he said. The rigorous selection process will focus on finding the most promising talents who can scale their businesses quickly and contribute to the region’s growth.

Support and Mentorship
The ECX24 programme offers participants comprehensive support, including workshops, mentoring, and guidance in key areas like AI in e-commerce, branding, and financial management.

Mentors from well-known companies such as ZUS Coffee, Carsome, and The Lego Group will share their expertise, helping participants grow in the digital age.

Participants in ECX24 will also compete for prestigious awards, cash prizes, and investment opportunities. Winners will get the chance to join a special programme by ByteDance TikTok in Shanghai, gaining insights into the global market.

Driving Innovation with SAP24
SAP24 aims to accelerate the growth of tech startups through mentoring, networking, and other resources. Startups will also benefit from access to cloud services, membership in the CXO Club, and international business opportunities. Since its launch, SAP has supported 190 startups, including companies like Nexmind AI and Borong.

This year, SAP24 introduces a unique overseas experience for selected participants, designed to give them practical insights and support for scaling their businesses globally.

Partnerships Paving the Way for Success
The programme is supported by key partnerships. AFFIN BANK serves as the main sponsor, while Invest Selangor Berhad co-organises SAP24. Other important partners include TikTok Shop, AEON, and Shopline, as well as Microsoft, AWS, and NVIDIA.

These collaborations are vital to the success of the Twin Accelerator Programme, ensuring that participants have access to a wide range of resources. SIDEC remains committed to nurturing over 300 entrepreneurs in the next five years, positioning Selangor as a leader in digital transformation.
