Rediscovering Ipoh Food Trucks
While food trucks in Ipoh are getting more and more popular, I wouldn’t say this is a new trend. I have seen a similar business concept long ago at night markets.
In fact, not only do they sell food and beverages, these innovative vendors sell other items, among them spectacles and handbags.
To me, food trucks are an extension to the ever growing hipster café scene. But while those cafés are stuck to their chosen locations, ideal or otherwise, these mobile food trucks go where the crowd is.
Therefore, while most of the time these trucks can be found at the road junction of Persiaran Greentown 3 in Greentown Business Centre, Ipoh just outside DiGi Store, they have to follow a schedule, similar to the weekly night markets. According to this arrangement, they are located in other sections of Ipoh, too.
Moreover, these young entrepreneurs and their trucks can also be found at fair grounds, usually where a crowd is expected to be.
You may ask, so, how does one know where these trucks will be on a specific day? Well, powered by social media, their locations are updated on the go on Instagram and Facebook.
