Purple Moon Lover, Ipoh
My friend and I decided upon Purple Moon Lover for tea recently, after narrowing down some places in the vicinity of Canning Garden and Ipoh Garden. A few new cafés have opened in these areas, so it was a tough call!
We went to Purple Moon Lover without expectation. The only information I had was that this is owned by the same people behind Petit Mary Patisserie (Ipoh Garden South) and Purple Moon Valley (Bercham).
Incidentally, Purple Moon Lover has no signage on the outside of its building, which is a house along Jalan Lee Kwee Foh in Canning Garden, facing the block of shop houses.
When it was newly opened for business just before Christmas last year, they had a huge fake Christmas tree in their garden which attracted lots of attention. Since it is now Chinese New Year, they have changed their decoration to match the current festive season.
Setting foot in the café, I was rather surprised to see a good number of senior citizens enjoying their meal. I had thought that such a set-up would attract a younger crowd. Well, I was wrong! Even older people know how to enjoy life these days.
The layout of the café is clean and clutter-free, with simple furniture. Dining at Purple Moon Lover Café, I had the feeling of being close to nature, although some of the greens are not real.
Take a look at these photos. We were there for tea, so we had cakes. By the way, some people have commented that prices here are slightly high. Well, I say, we are also paying for the overall ambience!
