Perak Food Fest

Perak Food Fest was supposed to kick off at 10am on 26th December, 2010 but when I arrived at 8pm, most vendors were still not ready yet. If you are wondering what sort of food you can get at the Perak Food Fest, since it looks like a state-level event, most food here are Malay-style food, the kind of food and drinks that one could get at a Ramadan bazaar.
And despite its name, Perak Food Fest offers more than just food. It’s like a pasar malam. So expect to find t-shirts, shoes, bags and other accessories. Also, you can find stuffs that are not usually offered at night markets, like liquid fertilizer and fighting fish (ikan pelaga).
Although when I was there, most food stalls were still closed, I was told that the event will go full swing from Monday onwards. So perhaps I will find time to go again within the week since the event will only wrap up on 31st December, 2010, making way for Ipoh Countdown to New Year 2011 where State dignitaries will converge at Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh, Perak from 8pm onwards.
