Over 2,000 Citizens Attend Nusantara Cultural Festival @ Ipoh 2024
More than 2,000 Ipoh citizens gathered at Stadium Indera Mulia to watch performances of the Nusantara Cultural Festival @ Ipoh 2024. This grand event was organised in celebration of the 36th Anniversary of Ipoh City.
Ipoh City Mayor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud officially inaugurated the festival, marking the start of a vibrant celebration.
The Ipoh City Council organised this programme to enhance the festivities for Visit Perak Year 2024. The event featured folk performances from various countries, including China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, plus Malaysia.
The festival saw participation from several prestigious cultural groups, including the Hengzhou Dance Group from Nanning, China; Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association of Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur; Southern Heaven of Hat Yai City, Thailand; Kumpulan Sumatra Ethnic Kota Medan, Indonesia; Kumpulan Gendang Muhibbah Perak, and more.
A UNESCO Creative Cities Network Event
This programme also formed part of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Creative Cities Network (UCCN) for the music category, highlighting Ipoh’s commitment to cultural enrichment.

Food Fest and Culinary Delights
In conjunction with the festival, a Food Fest (Pasar Jom Santai Melayu Klasik) has been organised, offering a variety of trending foods and beverages. This culinary celebration began on 23rd August and will continue until 31st August 2024, providing visitors with a taste of local and regional delicacies.
