This August, PastryMu invites you to celebrate Merdeka with a menu that blends Japanese culinary finesse and Malaysian festive spirit.
Available all month long at PastryMu Ipoh Garden and PastryMu Bandar Cyber, this Oishii Merdeka promotion specially curated by their Japanese cuisine chef offers a choice of vibrant lunch and indulgent dinner bentos, as well as a mouthwatering seafood feast, with live music to set the perfect evening mood.
Midday Delights – Malaysian Spirit Value Lunch
Served from noon until 2.30pm, these couple of authentic bento sets are ideal for a flavour-packed break in the middle of the day:
– A hearty serving of pasta coated in rich tomato sauce, paired with golden-fried chicken karaage.
– Ramen served with sweet-savoury teriyaki chicken slices that melt in the mouth.
Dinner Indulgence – Malaysian Spirit Value Dinner
From 6pm to 10pm, the menu tempts with a range of textures and flavours:
– Creamy carbonara meets Japanese curry for a comforting yet lightly spiced udon experience, paired with crisp, fluffy potato croquettes.
– Chicken cutlet sandwich served with smoky, salt-grilled mackerel that’s moist and flavourful.
– Fluffy rice balls with salmon flakes, alongside a juicy Japanese-style chicken patty in a rich glaze.
– Soft Okinawan-style rice paired with silky, cheesy carbonara pasta.
– Crispy prawn tempura tucked in tacos with salmon, paired with eel sushi rolls for a mix of crunch, freshness and umami.
Seafood Shell-Out Fiesta – Starts 15th August
The Oishii Merdeka Seafood Shell-Out Fiesta (RM49 per set, serves 1) is a vibrant spread of, among other ingredients:

Paired with soft brioche, you can choose Japanese teriyaki sauce for a rich, savoury depth or spicy chilli crab sauce for a lively kick.
We chose the Japanese teriyaki sauce for our Oishii Merdeka Seafood Shell-Out Fiesta, and it paired beautifully with the spread. The bowl of seafood was filled with juicy prawns, tender squid, sweet mussels, briny clams, and golden, crispy fish fillet, all evenly coated in a sweet-savoury teriyaki glaze. The flavours were well balanced, with enough umami to make each bite satisfying. The brioche was ideal for soaking up the remaining sauce, making sure nothing went to waste.

It’s the perfect backdrop for a relaxing dinner or a slow, indulgent seafood feast.
