Surviving the horrors of COVID-19 pandemic and its ensuing movement restriction measures, we should give ourselves a pat on the back and start treating ourselves better. After all, we deserve it. One of the best ways to pamper ourselves is through our tummy. Enough of torture with home cooking. It’s time for gastronomic revenge, which is why my family has been eating out as often as possible since Malaysia entered the endemic phase. This isn’t to say that we no longer care about SOPs. These are still strictly adhered to.
At WEIL Hotel’s Tiffin Restaurant, we have to mask-cum-glove up whilst taking food from the buffet counter, for the well-being and peace of mind of all guests. This was what I discovered last evening during dinner. Do you know that every Saturday, Tiffin Restaurant offers an oceanic feast delight via its seafood buffet dinner? If you love indulging in seafood such as crabs, oysters, clams, scallops, mussels, yabbies, etc., Tiffin Restaurant is where you should go for dinner on Saturdays, to savour to your heart’s content, from 6pm until 10.30pm.
Priced at RM138+ (adult), RM108+ (senior 60 and above) and RM98+ (child from 5 to 12 years of age), it’s well-worth every sen, if you look at the menu. With more than a hundred items available on the international buffet spread, starting with Seafood on Ice, soups, as well as main courses that also include chicken, beef and fish choices, in my experience, 4.5 hours is insufficient to taste everything even if we just have a little of each. So, what can I do about it? Make a reservation for this coming Saturday, of course!
Another attraction for me at buffets, apart from the ultra-wide variety of food, is the live-action stalls, where I get to watch how my food is prepared. There are at least five here that I can recall: noodle station, prawn mee stall with live prawn in aquarium, grill counter, ice cream/ais kacang bar, and the salmon carving station.
An Oceanic feast delight, that’s definitely what you will get at Tiffin Restaurant on Saturday evenings, but that’s not all. Appease your sweet tooth with a wide array of desserts. Mango mousse, chocolate moist, and chocolate magnum cakes were only some of the desserts that I managed to try. I was replete, I almost couldn’t walk. Haha! The other yummy items will have to wait for my return visit.
