It was a spectacular celebration to usher in the Year of the Boar at WEIL Hotel in Ipoh, as the acrobatic high-pole lion pranced about, leaving a lasting impression on all who were present.

It was the first presentation by the Chea Mien Hong Teck Lion & Dragon Dance Association at WEIL Hotel, specially invited to not only showcase their troupe’s lion dance prowess or to give a cultural experience to guests, but also to conduct customary blessings throughout all 13 floors of the premises, to “open business” for a new lunar year.

Earlier, the hotel owners, led by Dato’ Sew Yee (SY), Liew, Chairman of Weil Resources Sdn Bhd & member of Thong Fook Corporation, alongside family members, including Executive Director of WEIL Resources Sdn Bhd, Yu-Wei, Liew who runs WEIL Hotel and Yu-Gene, Liew, Chief Executive Officer of Pagoda Foods (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd., performed a prayer ceremony at the hotel altar located at the side of the building.

“This year, WEIL Hotel decides to return to the basic fundamentals of hospitality; to provide our guests and the local community with a hotel experience that is unique,” said Yu-Wei, Liew.

“That is why we have brought in this special lion dance troupe, to share the beauty of this skilled dancers performing an amazing feat in balancing themselves in an acrobatic act of high-pole lion dancing,” he added.

“Today is a day when we at WEIL Hotel make our guests and community feel special because we believe that Every Day Can Be Extraordinary.”
