The Music of John Williams by the Selangor Symphony Orchestra
The Selangor Symphony Orchestra (SSO) treated the audience to an exciting evening of The Music of John Williams at The Platform, Menara KEN TTDI, Kuala Lumpur.
Conducted by Eugene Pook, the orchestra took everyone on a memorable journey through some of the most well-known film scores of all time, including favourites from Star Wars, Superman, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter, among other famous soundtracks.
The concert began with the stirring Olympic Fanfare and Theme, setting the tone for an impressive performance. From the bold Superman March to the emotional Theme from Schindler’s List, the orchestra showed its ability to move between different styles with ease.
Highlights included the adventurous Raiders March, the uplifting Flying Theme from E.T., and the suspenseful Shark Theme from Jaws. The Star Wars Suite, featuring favourites like the Imperial March and Main Theme, brought the concert to a rousing finish.
