Mitsubishi Red Peak Challenge (Ipoh)

4WD enthusiasts in Ipoh had the opportunity to check out the smooth drive of the Mitsubishi Triton VGT GS and Pajero Sport VGT when the Red Peak Challenge came by for two days over the weekend.

During the Mitsubishi Red Peak Challenge at the outdoor car park area of Tesco Hypermarket (Jalan Jambu), visitors were encouraged to put down their names to be driven for a ride of their life, figuratively speaking.

Sitting in either one of the two vehicles, expertly driven by specially engaged marshals, the vehicles were then put through a series of challenges, so that passengers were able to feel for themselves the power and ability of the suspension of the vehicles to handle such “terrain”, albeit man-made.

Mitsubishi Red Peak Challenge roadshow will visit a total of 27 locations, including East Malaysia. As a matter of fact, while this crew was in Ipoh, another was in Bintulu (Sarawak) concurrently. The next stop in Peninsular Malaysia will be Taiping.

4WD vehicles are no longer only used by those who need it off-road, or in rough and demanding industries such as logging and mining. They are in fact also lifestyle vehicles – many owners are also using them as a family car.

Although these two models were introduced to the market some two to three years ago, this roadshow was to create a reminder to the public, about their existence and power, as demonstrated when they effortlessly overcame these obstacles.

The on-the-road price for Triton VGT GS is from RM90K, and from RM140K for Pajero Sport VGT.
