It was an evening for the staff of Symphony Suites Hotel to let their hair down.
Since the launch of the hotel, it was their first annual staff party, with the theme “Hawaiian Night”.
Dressed in colourful beach wear, lei around their neck and flowers in their hair, the 40+ special guests had a good time with the line-up of fun party games which they were “forced” to participate in by the emcee.
There were also lucky draws with prizes from hotel vouchers to personal electronic prizes and household electrical items to be won.
Merrily, everyone walked home a winner, due to the generous spread of food, from BBQ items to steamboat and buffet at the counter. It was surely a night to stuff oneself full!
This first annual staff party was especially organised to show appreciation to the dedicated team of employees at Symphony Suites Hotel, some of whom have worked here since the first day of the hotel operation.
In recognition of the cream of the crop, a number of awards were presented, along with a plaque, certificate of appreciation and cash reward. And the winners were:
*Ms. Fo Wee Peng (Accounts Manager) & Ms. Winni Ng (Accounts Executive) – Zero MC Record 2013/2014
*Ms. Alice Ho (Sales Executive) – Best Attendance 2013/2014
*Cik Noor Suhaila Bt. Shamsudin (Demi Chef) – Best Employee 2013/2014
*Ms. Winni Ng (Accounts Executive-cum-Personal Assistant to the General Manager) – Best Employee 2013/2014
According to the General Manager David Tsen, the selection for Best Employee Awards was based on the attitude of the employee; someone who is committed, dedicated, able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, never complain and is an exemplary model to others.
During the party, the GM also took the opportunity to present promotion letters to five of his staff. These promotions were effective from 1st January, 2015. Those handling bigger responsibilities now are:
*Mukhris Ahmad from acting Human Resource & Operations Manager to Operations Manager
*Azie Hashim from Human Resource Executive to Assistant Human Resource Manager
*Marzuki Mazlan from Store/Receiving Clerk to Purchasing Executive
*Alice Ho from Sales Coordinator to Sales Executive
*Izhar Abdul Halim from Housekeeping Service staff to Housekeeping Assistant
