Mega Acts To Headline Rainforest World Music Festival 2024

I’ve never been as excited about the Rainforest World Music Festival as this upcoming 2024 edition. Slated to be hosted again in Kuching, Sarawak from 28th until 30th June, headlining the 3-day music festival amidst Malaysia’s rainforest under the dramatic backdrop of Mount Santubong are Grammy award winner Kitaro, award-winning Malaysian singer Dato’ Zainal Abidin, multi-talented artiste Belle Sisoski, plus sape’ songstress Alena Murang.

Needless to say, there is a full list of other interesting acts scheduled to be performed live on stage, in addition to music workshops, cultural & craft displays, food stalls, and more.

This is what the Rainforest World Music Festival is about – discovering new music while rekindling love for the old ones. Not only does RWMF celebrate music, but it also promotes sustainable tourism, including conservation.

Into its 27th edition already, this year’s festival brings together 20 acts, comprising 68 international plus 63 locals musicians, from 15 countries around the world.

The theme for 2024 is ‘Evolution’, underscoring the expanded mission of the RWMF, which has transcended from its original music festival event.

Sarawak Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor said, “The evolution of RWMF will see the music festival transform into a dynamic platform that advocates sustainable practices in tourism and conservation, paving the way for the next 25 years of RWMF.”

The RWMF annual three-day music festival celebrating the diversity of world music has certainly come a long way since its inception in 1998. It now boasts a global fanbase of 12 million.
