At a simple ceremony held last evening at Dataran MBI, a list of programmes for Visit Perak Year 2012 for Ipoh City was launched by State Exco for Tourism Y.B. Dato’ Hamidah Osman and Datuk Bandar Dato’ Roshidi Hashim.

Since the first day of the year, living in Ipoh, I did not feel any particular changes to the city considering that 2012 IS Visit Perak year. My friends in the F&B and tourism industries told me that most of the activities are held out of Ipoh, for example, in Taiping, Gerik, Manjung and Gopeng. Hmmpphh!!

Besides entertainment by local singers and dancers, ten Ramadhan food hawkers were presented with aprons and caps. I hope that with the launch of Visit Perak Year at Ipoh City level, there will be more interesting events for us!
