Launch of Rabbit Wonderland to Celebrate Year of the Rabbit
Spring into New Beginnings is the theme for this Chinese New Year at Sunway Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) & Sunway Lagoon.
In conjunction with Spring Festival, while we enjoy the long holidays, Sunway Theme Parks has lined up a host of activities for families to spend valuable time together.
The main highlight of Spring into New Beginnings to welcome the Year of the Rabbit is Rabbit Wonderland which has recently undergone an expansion to now offer 14 sub-breeds of rabbits. The 14 sub-breeds are Teddy, Lionhead, Holland Lop, Dwarf Hotot, Domestic Rabbit, Chinchilla, Blanc De Hotot, Angora, American Fuzzy Lop, Thai, Standard Rex, New Zealand, Netherland Dwarf and Mini Rex. It’s interesting to note the unique characteristics of each sub-breed.
Similar to a petting zoo, visitors can get up close and personal with these rabbits, which can number close to 250 at any one time. Visitors are encouraged to pet and feed the free-roaming rabbits but do be gentle with them as rabbits are fragile animals. This theme park is home to approximately 500 rabbits, but they are not exhibited at Rabbit Wonderland altogether due to the territorial nature of male rabbits.
Rabbit Wonderland was launched on 12th Jan 2022 at Sunway Lost World of Tambun. There is a similar attraction at Sunway Lagoon. The rabbit is a symbol of fertility, abundance and love. As rabbits are well loved, especially among children, it is apt to launch Rabbit Wonderland just in time for the Year of the Rabbit. In fact, the setup of Rabbit Wonderland, with a concept inspired by Hobbit House and under the guidance of the Department of Wildlife Protection and National Parks, took into account input and feedback from children.
The campaign of Spring into New Beginnings will be held at the aforementioned theme parks from 20th until 29th Jan 2023. Rabbit Wonderland is open to the public from 22nd until 29th Jan 2023, from 11am till 6pm on weekdays and 10am till 6pm on weekends.
To celebrate New Year 2023 and Chinese New Year, Sunway Lost World of Tambun is a hive of activity since the start of the year and will last until 5th Feb 2023, which is the last day of the Lunar New Year. Specifically for Chinese New Year, illuminated lanterns plus colourful flowers beautifully decorate the park to create festive vibes.
