Ipoh Parade’s Hot Mama 2016

Despite having no experience in modelling or beauty pageants, mothers of all ages sashayed down the runway at Ipoh Parade during the recent Hot Mama contest.

The competition, which was organised by the mall in conjunction with Mother’s Day, served to dispel the notion that mothers can only be seen as meek, modest and exist within the domestic sphere. It offered a platform for mothers to showcase their talents on stage, to prove that motherhood simply enriches the lives of women, rather than bog them down.

According to Centre Manager for Ipoh Parade, the contest has allowed the community to rethink the way they view motherhood. He added, “As a retail destination, Ipoh Parade has injected a dash of modernity into the charming, historic city of Ipoh with its progressive design and structure.

“This community lifestyle centre seeks to instil social progress among the people it serves, by challenging outdated viewpoints while allowing newer, enlightened perspectives to flourish. The Hot Mama contest has done just that.”

Congratulations to all the participants. You are all winners!
