Ipoh Main Convent Class of 1972 Reunion
While hundreds of former students of Ipoh Main Convent (SM Convent), together with royal patron Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Puan Besar Perak Tuanku Zara Salim (Class of 1990), celebrated the school’s 105th anniversary at the Royal Perak Golf Club Jubilee Ballroom, some 80-odd ladies from the school’s Class of 1972 decided they wanted a different setting to celebrate their 40th anniversary since leaving school. Don’t ask me why, wouldn’t it be better to combine both celebrations, since they were held on the same evening in Ipoh? *puzzled!*
To be frank, I personally thought it would be great to cover the event at RPGC instead because of its masquerade theme, but I subsequently found out that no guest complied. Haih… Malaysians!
Anyway, I am sharing photos of the Class of 1972 reunion. I may not know anyone at the dinner, but I take my hat off to these ladies, some who returned from overseas just to celebrate the 40th year since leaving school. The gorgeous Che Puteh Naziadin, Miss Malaysia World 1976, who is now based in New Zealand, also joined in the celebration.
Compared to the reunion at RPGC, this one was a lot subdued. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable evening for all who attended!

Hello class of 1972, I have been trying to get connected to friends of this particular year.
I live in Australia now and go by the name Donna Allen. I would love to attend the next get together to catch up with friends.
Some of the students who were in the same class as me and were also good friends were Theresa Samy, Eleanor Issac, Rosemary, Shanbagavalli, Christina Chew, Puteh Niazadin who sat right behind me in class and many others.
