Ipoh Chinwoo 87th Blood Donation Campaign
Collaborating with Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh (Ipoh General Hospital) and Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah (Red Crescent Society), Ipoh Chinese Chinwoo Athletic Association organised the 87th blood donation campaign-cum-recycling drive at its premises, Wisma Chin Woo in Ipoh.
Guest-of-honour Dato’ Dr. Mah Hang Soon called upon the public to come forward to donate blood, especially those with rare blood types. Hospital blood banks have to shore up their stocks, particularly during festivities, as blood is needed during emergencies, like road accidents.
This campaign, held during the long Hari Raya Aidilfitri weekend holidays, attracted tens of people early in the morning. The organisers expected some eighty donors to turn up, based on previous similar campaigns.
Besides blood donation, there was also a drive to collect recyclables, which is something good for the environment.
