6 Indonesian Fashion Designers Hand-Picked For IIFW™ 4.0

These up-and-coming designers will be presenting their creations at International IPOH Fashion Week (IIFW™) Season 4.0, adorning 15 models, also from Indonesia.

This was confirmed at a press conference last Wednesday, 20th July, in Jakarta, where the IIFW™ Board Members, founder Louis Sebastian, Adeline Khan and Joel Raj Victor had met with Indonesian designer Martini Suarsa, who is the representative and Brand Ambassador for IIFW™ 4.0 in the country. Pn. Haryanti Abu Bakar Deputy Director, Tourism Malaysia Jakarta, was the guest of honour.

These designers are excited to “go international” and showcase their work on such a major platform, taking the chance to highlight the ethnic culture of their respective districts through inspiring design and fashion.

Ibu Yuana Rochma Astuti – Kemenparekraf / Baparekraf – Creative Economy Marketing Director, believed that Indonesian designers have much to offer fashion lovers, with their unique fabric and batik prints that have high potential to develop further. To present these at IIFW™ 4.0 via a mini fashion exhibition will bring the eyes of the world to Indonesian designers as a whole, contributing to the economic growth of the country.

With the theme “Fashion with a Heart”, Fashion of the Week Award 2019/20 winner International IPOH Fashion Week (IIFW™) 4.0 2022 will be hosted in Ipoh, Malaysia from 20th until 23rd October, 2022.

Part of the proceeds from the table sale of the Black Tie charity gala dinner will benefit the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (Ipoh General Hospital) and the Perak Foodbank.
