HARRIS Hotel Batam Center, Indonesia
Located a mere three minutes’ walk from Batam Center International Ferry Terminal and Mega Mall shopping complex, HARRIS Hotel Batam Center (or simply Harris Batam Center) provides some of the best views of the island, overlooking Gedung Astaka and South China Sea.
HARRIS Batam Center is the ninth property of the HARRIS group of hotels, spread across 12 cities in Indonesia. Opened in 2011, there are a total of 166 guest rooms here, including Suites with living and dining rooms, as well as Presidential Suite.
The corporate colours of HARRIS are orange and white. Therefore, the theme of HARRIS Batam Center is no exception, with the rooms in vivid orange and white tones, to reflect a fresh, modern and welcoming feel.
The spacious rooms are equipped with a work desk, minibar, hair dryer, safe deposit box, bedroom slippers, complimentary shower amenities set, coffee & tea making facility, IDD phone, LCD TV with local and international channels, and most importantly (to me), complimentary in-room WiFi connectivity.
There are three F&B outlets: HARRIS Cafe, Juice Bar and HARRISSIMO. Although HARRIS Cafe is the main dining room, all three options combined, refuel guests from morning till night.
During my visit to Batam and Bintan in early April, I spent time at HARRIS Batam Centre and managed to have a look at the rooms and some of their facilities.
I also had the opportunity to try its hour-long Javanese-style full body massage at H’Spa, located within the hotel.
H’Spa offers a full range of facial, spa, and massage services, and their prices are very reasonable, for hotel standard. MTP Loyalty Programme members enjoy a discount. Do take note that tipping is required after the treatment.
