Gala Premiere: “You Are My Son” – A Touching Tale of Love, Loss and Homecoming
Last night, EMILY2U MEDIA had the pleasure of attending the gala premiere of You Are My Son (好好再一起) at GSC Ipoh Parade, graciously invited by Mr Jimmy Goh, Managing Director of Golden Century Tour & Travel Sdn Bhd, a major sponsor of this Ipoh gala premiere.
It was a heartfelt gathering that celebrated not just the release of a new local film, but the timeless themes of family, love, and redemption.
A Story That Resonates Across Generations
Shot in picturesque Sibu, Sarawak, You Are My Son is set for nationwide release on 29th May 2025, just in time for Father’s Day.
The timing couldn’t be more fitting, as the film tenderly explores the complex bonds between father and daughter, the words left unsaid, and the void that time cannot easily fill.
At the centre of the story is Pingxin, a daughter who returns to her childhood home with her young “son,” only to find that the place she once knew now feels unfamiliar.
Her father, Uncle Guang, once rigid and quick to anger, is now a man of few words: his silence is heavy with memories and regrets.
Then there’s Liangliang, Pingxin’s innocent little boy, who simply wants to be loved. Unburdened by the past, he unknowingly becomes the bridge between his “mother” and grandfather, a gentle force trying to mend a relationship frayed by years of pain.
