Fostering Ties Between Media Fraternities of Perak, Malaysia & Beijing, China
This year’s Impiana Hotel Ipoh’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme in conjunction with the Lunar New Year had a special twist to it. Besides celebrating with kids from The Salvation Army Children’s Home, it was also to launch an expedition to Beijing, China.
The delegation made up of media friends from Perak under the Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club, will be in Beijing, China for five days, beginning March 15. It will be a mission to foster closer ties with their counterparts in Beijing, a crucial move as March 8, 2015 marks the first anniversary since Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 went missing during a routine flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
The dinner was also attended by representatives from the state government, sponsors, children from the Salvation Army Home, and certainly, members of the press. Impiana Hotel Ipoh was also one of the sponsors.
It being Chinese New Year, the evening kicked off appropriately with an energetic lion dance performed by the troupe from Ipoh Chin Woo.
While guests enjoyed themselves to a generous scrumptious buffet dinner, the children also received bags of goodies plus an angpow. The handover of state and national flags to the representative of the media delegation from Perak was witnessed by all.
