Food Truck Garden@Meru by Silver State Food Trucks

Since the closure of the Food Truck Garden at P.O.R.T. (People Of Remarkable Talent) in January, it was difficult to track down Ipoh food trucks, even with regular checking of Silver State Food Trucks Facebook.

So, it was indeed wonderful news when told that a new place has been found near Bulatan Amanjaya in Meru Raya, next to McDonald’s. In fact, food trucks have begun their business here in stages since March 2017.

When I visited one night in June, it was raining very heavily. Although the weather deterred many regular diners, the food trucks continued to operate, despite the quiet night.

As I mentioned in my post a year ago, food trucks are not new but the refreshed concept have clearly caught on to the hipster café trend, an extension of boutique Instagram-worthy cafés that have mushroomed all over town.

Since the revival of this Food Truck Garden, we have seen more trucks joining the venture. They include Pegro, Shomin Sushi, and Laksa Pokok Limau.

It is interesting to note how the food truck business has evolved over these past few years, with an overall expanded menu of food and beverages, from local fare to Western with a Malaysian touch.

If you are looking for an unconventional dining experience, try eating at a Food Truck Garden. But first, remember to check the official Facebook page of Silver State Food Trucks to determine their location.

Awww…that’s so nice…like how they are all just gathered at one spot…and food trucks are probably the future of restaurants….that’s what I feel at least since the economy is so bad..that even paying rental for a lot is crazy..

Dear Emily,
Good Morning. My name is Arif Hakimi, an internship student from Tourism Malaysia. My intention is to write a blog regarding food truck ports all around Malaysia. May I use the pictures from your blog?
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
