Emily2u.com was conferred the Perak Tourism Awards 2017 in Social Media during a gala dinner on 31st October, 2017 at Kinta Riverfront Hotel, Ipoh.
This blog, which was established out of passion to write, share and promote the home state of Perak, recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, with just under 3,000 posts to date.
With the tagline, Bringing to you events & happenings in and around Ipoh…& beyond, the main themes of the blog are:
Over the years, this blog has evolved and expanded beyond the borders of Perak, but Emily2u.com continues to regularly promote the state because logically more people should know about its diverse tourism offerings.
Thus far, Emily2u.com has garnered over two million unique viewers, with an average of 86% readership from Malaysia.
Emily2u.com would like to formally record sincere appreciation to the Perak State Government, Tourism Perak and the awards committee for recognising the efforts of this blog in promoting Perak as a premier tourist destination in Malaysia.
Thank you also to all who made this achievement possible, who walked this journey and who had supported this endeavour one way or another through the years.

Congratulations to all award recipients, especially to my media colleagues. It is indeed humbling to know that our efforts in promoting Perak in our respective ways have been recognised by the state government, no less. Doing so without seeking any reward or benefit in return, this recognition came as a great surprise.
Perak Tourism Awards is a biennial event, whereby Social Media is an inaugural category, that recognises the best efforts of those in the tourism industry not only in the promotion of tourism in Perak but also those who provide excellent services to tourists.
