As you know, Upin, Ipin and friends are rocking it up in Ipoh this weekend. Betul, betul, betul!
I may not be a huge fan but I too am caught up in all the excitement. You wouldn’t believe it but even adults adore the cute twin boys, Upin and Ipin, and all the other characters that make up the successful Upin & Ipin Malaysian-made animation series. Like I mentioned, my favourite is Jarjit Singh. Marvelous! Marvelous!
But cuteness of the characters is only one contributing factor to the popularity of Upin & Ipin. Credit should also go to the talent behind the production, especially the voices of the characters in Upin & Ipin dan Kawan-kawan.
Meet Asyiela Putri Azhar, who is the current voice talent for both Upin and Ipin. I had the good luck to bump into her at Greentown Mall last evening and she gamely posed for a photo.
As you can see, not only is her voice awesomely fitting as cheeky boys, she is very sweet, very obliging and approachable. I wanted to request for an autograph but I didn’t have even a piece of paper on me. I have MagicMarker app on my phone but that wouldn’t do, would it?
Here’s wishing Asyiela all the best!
