D.R. Seenivasagam Recreational Park, Ipoh

Headed for the green lung, right smack in Ipoh City recently for a change of scenery. Quite disappointed that the park, known locally as just D.R. Park, which was opened back in the early 1950’s, isn’t as well-maintained as it should be. D.R. Park was formerly known as Coronation Park.
Within the D.R. Park grounds is a “Japanese Mini Garden”, which was officially launched on 30th June, 1995, to mark the relationship between Ipoh and sister city Fukuoka, Japan. This garden, on an area of 1.2 hectares, is also, sadly, neglected. In any case, I’ll just show you the good sides of both D.R. Park and Japanese Mini Garden.

Hey Em, this is great!! remind me of the good old days at this place..those were the days!!
I didn’t go there for years too, until that day!
Emily, thanks for the memories. I spent the first 20 years of my life in M’sia and probably most were in this then sanctuary !
Ritchie,
There are plans to upgrade D.R. Park, especially the stretch facing Kinta Riverfront Hotel.
thanks for the posts on ipoh emily. We are visiting Ipoh for our first time soon, and your blog is very much helpful!
