Darul Ridzuan Museum (Muzium Darul Ridzuan) @ Ipoh, Perak

In 1950, the Perak State Government took over ownership of the building. It was only in 1992 that it opened its doors to the public as a museum. It was officially launched on 18th August that year by the Regent of Perak, DYTM Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah.
When I was there for a visit, the museum was hosting the snake exhibition, Beauty & the Hisss and I had to pay an entrance fee to enter the building. Ordinarily, admission is free but I believe that if there is no special event, things are a tad quiet inside, unless you are interested in forestry, nature and the history of tin mining in Perak. So you see, THIS is the reason I never visited Darul Ridzuan Museum all these while!
By the way, on ordinary days when there are no special events, the Museum is open daily (including Saturday and Sunday) from 9.30am to 5pm, though it is closed on Friday from 12pm to 2.45pm. Once again, admission is free.
