CMCO: 3 in a Car from Same Household

This second round of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which came into effect in Perak and most peninsular states on 9th November, 2020, has brought equally much confusion to the rakyat.

Quite similar to April this year, when the Movement Control Order (MCO) was eased slightly, only two people from the same household were allowed to ride in the same car. One person would be the driver, the other passenger. It was also stipulated that the passenger had to occupy the back seat, diagonally from the driver.

On the other hand, for e-hailing, three people were allowed in one car. One would be the driver, while two passengers from the same household had to occupy the back seat.

The good news is, starting today, three people are permitted to commute in a car, i.e. a driver plus two passengers. Moreover, there is no adherence to seating arrangement. However, the three passengers should all be from the same household.
