Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort, Batu Gajah
Page 1 Page 2
Although Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort in Batu Gajah was developed more than ten years ago, it was only recently that I set foot there. I don’t play golf, you see, and don’t understand why anyone likes golf.
To my surprise, it’s not all about golf at Clearwater Sanctuary as the resort offers its guests a host of family-oriented activities; sports from indoor and outdoor tennis to fishing and archery, just to name a few. Other facilities include snooker, lake tour and birdwatching.
Located within the over 1000 acres of land are 27 units of chalet. I discovered that the rates are very reasonable considering that they are luxurious retreats, yet just a stone’s throw away from town. I understand they are so popular, more units are being planned. Well, they DO have land for it!
During my visit to Clearwater Sanctuary, I had wanted to shoot lots of photos but the land is so vast, even by riding a buggy, I wasn’t able to cover as much ground as I wished. So, although I am happy with the photo quality in this post, I am quite disappointed that I was unable to capture a photo that “says it all”. Perhaps this calls for a second visit?
Oh yes, I also paid a visit to the 9-hole, Par 4 Raintree Nine Golf Course, the first of three golf courses. The others are Lakes Nine and Wetlands 9 golf courses, altogether making up 27 holes. Besides being voted Malaysia’s Most Scenic Golf Course by readers of Golf Malaysia magazine, Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort was selected Best Golf Course of the Year in Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2007/2008, just to name one accolade.

Very scenic indeed! Would love to visit one day.
Definitely offers more than golf!
Niceplace!
I bought the full membership since the beginning at 18k.
After so many years, I was told is worth nothing if you want to sell the membership.
I fell cheated!
Hi SH, we are facing the same problems. Wanna sell but no buyer. Maintenance fees have to pay monthly, even though we never step in the resort.
Hi Amy, how much r u selling?
The management of this place should mention the history of this place. For example, Malayan Tin Dredging Limited Dredge no. 6 had its last dredging operation here, before been dismantled. Those lakes were made by this dredge and others. Dredge no. 6 was the last of the 6 dredges of MTD. MTD of course was the pioneer tin mining company to successfully launched the tin dredge in this country, and at one the largest producer in the world. And I am happy to note my father once work in this dredge no. 6 from 1946 till about 1965(?). Sadly at clearwater there was only a general note of tin mining in Perak only, but not its local history!!! Well I suppose that’s how much weight you give to local history…for visitors to appreciate its past history.
