Change MyKad @ JPN UTC Ipoh

Are you aware that we (Malaysians) need to have our MyKad changed to a newer card with better security features latest by 31st Dec, 2014? It is compulsory for those from 18 to 24 years old.

I had mine changed recently at the Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (National Registration Department) branch office at UTC Ipoh. The office is on Level 3 of UTC.

All I had to bring along was my MyKad and RM10. The required photo was taken on the spot at the office, so that’s very convenient. It was a breeze and took just minutes.

The new MyKad is ready for collection 24 hours after application. To collect, just bring along the receipt that was issued and MyKad. Head to Counter 5 and place the receipt in the box. Then wait for your name to be called.
