Art of Speed 2025: A Weekend Where Kustom Kulture Took Centre Stage

Hosted over the weekend of 26th & 27th July at MAEPS Serdang, the 14th edition of Art of Speed 2025 brought together an unforgettable mix of automotive artistry, international names, lifestyle experiences, and community vibes, all wrapped in the unmistakable spirit of Kustom Ada Gaya.

From sunrise to sundown, every inch of the expansive venue buzzed with activity. Needless to say, this year’s crowd was treated to the biggest show yet.

Kustom Legends From Around the Globe

AOS 2025 rolled out the red carpet for some of the biggest names in the custom scene. Legends like Shige Suganuma and Wildman Ishii from Japan’s MOONEYES, Hot Wheels designer Brendon Vetuskey, and Yuichi Yoshizawa of Custom Works Zon were among the VIPs who made the trip to Malaysia.

One of the main attractions was the trio of custom bikes that turned heads all weekend:

  • BMW R18 “Ground 0” by Yuichi Yoshizawa
  • A stripped-back Knucklehead chopper by Masa Sugihara
  • Custom Flathead by Australian craftsman Ben Forster, making his Malaysian debut
  • Celebrating the Best Builds

    With so much talent under one roof, the Show & Shine competition was fierce, but two builds rose to the top.

    Both winners earned the honour of representing Malaysia at the 33rd Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show in Japan this coming December. a dream for any custom enthusiast.

    New Attractions That Kept Everyone Talking

    AOS 2025 introduced a handful of exciting new features:

  • World of Wheels (WOW): A refined Show & Shine experience with pro-grade photo studios powered by MotorTakaful.com and NoEqual.co.
  • Collectible Alley in Hall C: Diecast heaven with rare finds and must-have memorabilia.
  • The Beetle Battle: A friendly showdown with the VW Beetle Club Indonesia that strengthened cross-border automotive ties.
  • Art of Speed x MOONEYES 10-Year Collab: A milestone celebrated with exclusive merchandise and a whole lot of nostalgia.
  • Hot Wheels Convention Kicked Up the Pace

    Returning for its third year, the Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia (HWCCM) didn’t disappoint. From rare and custom models to meetups and swap sessions, Hall C was buzzing with collectors and hobbyists.

    A special dinner at BoraOmbak Marina brought together HWCCM vendors, with guests receiving an exclusive pack featuring the first left-and-right convention car pair in Southeast Asia, among other goodies.

    From Clubs to Culture, This Was More Than Just a Car Show

    AOS has always been about community, and this year’s gatherings made that loud and clear.

  • Car Club Parades and ThunderCircus Motorcycle Rally filled the venue with horsepower and unity.
  • Project Car Invitational impressed with curated builds from local and regional tuners.
  • Kulture Kartel offered fashion, vintage wear, and local brands.
  • B-boy battles gave Hall D a different kind of energy, with dancers vying for a spot at the Taiwan world finals.
  • SoundCircus Got the Crowd Grooving

    Inside Hall A, SoundCircus Takeover provided a stellar live music lineup that kept the weekend’s tempo high.

    Acts like Ruffedge, Noh Salleh, Romantic Echoes, and Luqman Podolski rocked the stage in an indoor concert space that was equal parts cool and chaotic (in a good way).

    Kembara Passport: A Treasure Hunt for All Ages

    The newly introduced Kembara Passport added a playful twist. Visitors collected stamps from brand booths, and those who completed the mission had the chance to spin the Wheel of Speed, with prizes including overseas event trips up for grabs!

    Art of Speed 2025: What a Ride

    Whether you came for the builds, the brands, the beats, or simply the buzz, AOS 2025 offered a little something for everyone. It wasn’t just a motor show. It was a melting pot of creativity, culture, and connection.
